Installing Your Turbo

  • Check the operation of the engine to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications.

  • Replace oil, oil filter, and air filter before installation.

  • Replace the oil supply line in all petrol/race fuel applications. In diesel applications, clean the oil supply line.

  • Do not use thread sealer (e.g. silicone) on any oil lines.

  • Inspect oil drain for any restriction — check for kinked or deteriorated rubber and sharp bends.

  • On fresh or remanufactured engines and heads, flush all oil passages thoroughly.

  • Inspect and clean the intercooler or aftercooler if applicable.

  • Replace the air filter element and check for any intake or exhaust flow restrictions, including the catalytic converter.

  • Remove all foreign objects from the intake air tract and secure all hoses.

  • Replace the crankcase breather element(s) if applicable.

  • Confirm that the actuator “C” clip is secured and that the oil drain orientation is vertical.

  • Verify the tightness of all clamps and bolts, and secure lock tabs if required.

  • Remove all tools from the engine compartment.

Initial Start Procedure:
Before starting the engine, disable either the fuel or ignition system to allow the engine to crank without starting. Crank until normal oil pressure is achieved. Once oil pressure is present, start the engine. Repeat this procedure after every oil change
